John Klvac

John Klvac, CPA is an accomplished financial professional with over 40 years experience as a Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for publicly-held and privately-owned companies with annual revenues from $15 million to $4 billion. During his distinguished career, John has been responsible for audit, accounting and controllership functions for both start-ups and mature businesses in construction, manufacturing, oilfield services, engineering, energy and software development.

His career also includes six years of Big Eight audit and tax responsibilities in retail, construction, R & D, manufacturing, non-profit and government.

Some of his more impressive accomplishments include reducing annual raw material costs at a petrochemical plant by $6 million, decreasing an organization’s M&A costs of $ 10 million, and disclosure of fraudulent activities at clients and company facilities. He also has been responsible for financial segments of IPO’s and private-debt placements and implementation for various management systems.

In 1977, he was hired by a New York based multi-national privately-held company to establish an international internal audit function, where he later served as Director of Finance, and participated in the sale of its petrochemical division. After the sale, the resulting company was acquired by Houston-based Texas Eastern/PanEnergy.

John relocated to Houston and served PanEnergy and its affiliates as Assistant General Auditor; Vice-President Finance & Administrative Services of Algonquin Gas Transmission Company, New England’s major supplier of natural gas; and Vice- President Finance of Altra Energy Technologies, LLC, a high-tech joint venture start-up.

He has served as a consultant for various companies involved in manufacturing, start-up of a bio-diesel plant, high-tech start ups, and oil field service entities for the past ten years

John is an honorary member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and holds degrees from the University of Maryland (BS-Business) and Fordham University (MBA-International Business).
