Accounts Payable Job Description
An Accounts Payable must have the following:
- Organization
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in PC
- Data entry proficiency
- Math skills
- Financial software
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Verifies entries and compares system reports to balances
- Charges expenses to accounts
- Pays vendors by scheduling and preparing checks
- Pays employees by verifying expense reports and preparing checks
- Maintains accounting ledgers by posting transactions
- Maintains historical records
- Reports sales taxes
- Keeps information confidential
- Disburses petty cash
- Variance to budget analysis
- Manage 13-week cash flow forecast
- Bank reconciliations
- Reconcile all accounts monthly
- Assist owner with annual budget process
- Full general ledger responsibility
